Wood & Douglas helps Guernsey Water keep the information flowing

08 OCTOBER 2013

The popular tourist destination of Guernsey with a population of 65,000 is improving its infrastructure.  Guernsey Water is tasked with delivering fresh drinking water and dealing with waste water on the island. Wood & Douglas recently helped the organisation with a feasibility study for an island-wide radio telemetry scheme. This would be a replacement for the existing ADSL broadband connections.

Wood & Douglas conducted UHF signal analysis tests across the length and breadth of the island. A comprehensive report was generated with recommendations, many of which will feature in a system tender document that Guernsey Water plans to issue in the near future.

Wood & Douglas’ consultants have significant expertise in supporting organisations considering using wireless for telemetry or providing guidance on the best way to upgrade an existing system.
