Ultra Delivers Data Links to UK Fireshadow Loitering Munition Programme

21 JULY 2010

Following the successful Loitering Munition Capability Demonstration programme, Ultra was selected to support MBDA's Fireshadow Loitering Munition programme.

With MBDA's Fire Shadow weapon system for the Royal Artillery now in demonstration and manufacture phase, Ultra is delighted to be providing its High Integrity Data Link (HIDL) as the air-ground data link solution.

HIDL will contribute to the operational flexibility of the weapon system by enabling command and control of the Fire Shadow munition at long ranges. HIDL will also provide the munition's video imagery back to the weapon system command post, so allowing the Operator-In-The-Loop to observe the target before a decision to commit.
